TISSUE PAPER STAINED GLASS CRAFT

December 17, 2015 by Carisa

TISSUE PAPER STAINED GLASS CRAFT

My kids love crafting! When we were making this tissue paper stained glass craft Owen stood up and started doing a little dance and chant… “Look at my purple circle!” It was the cutest thing I ever saw.

The stained glass craft turned out so beautiful. I love seeing them in the window of our kitchen.

Somehow I forget how much my kids love crafting. It always takes quite a bit of motivation for me to pull out the supplies and get going on a craft. In fact, I didn’t get the motivation to do this until we invited friends over to craft with us.

However, once my kids get going, I love seeing their excitement. Lanae seriously made 9 of these stained glass stars and circles all by herself!! I don’t even know how she did that many.

But this craft is super easy and looks so pretty in the windows! I love how the light reflects through the stained glass ornaments, its so cheery.

What you need:

Heavy cardstock

Exacto knife

Ruler

Contact paper

Tissue paper

Here’s what we did:

Trace and cut out whatever shape you want. Use a ruler or guide to cut out the inside with a sharp exacto knife (on a cutting board). Cut contact paper to size and place the shape on the sticky side of the contact paper. Cut tissue paper into small pieces and layer over your shape. Place a second sheet of contact paper on top. Seal the edges and cut it out! Then place it in the window for the light to shine through!

Sounds easy enough, right!? It’s well worth it since you get to enjoy the pretty light shining through them during the day. And the kids will really love checking them out!
