TISSUE PAPER FLOWER CRAFT

March 20, 2015 by Carisa

Framed Spring Flower Craft from Messes to Memories

Lanae and I have been slowly working on simple projects for her room. She recently gave up the larger bedroom so that the boys can have more space. Yeah… We’re gonna have 2 boys soon. Crazy!!

The transition has been a bit easier because we’ve been excited about all the fun projects that we are going to do in her room. Slowly…

I love Spring and have been looking for a fun Spring craft to do with Lanae that could double as wall-art. I knew I wanted to incorporate flowers. But that was about it.

So I designed a little flower printable that was color-coded, that she could fill it in with tissue paper.

The craft is very simple. You crumple up squares of tissue paper and then glue it to the page.

Adding the color-coded sections made it a little more difficult, but definitely adds to the finished masterpiece! Plus, Lanae got to practice her listening skills…

Because there are so many details here, you really have to do this with your child, unless they are super detail oriented. Lanae was really good about putting the right colors in the right spot. However, I helped her fill in the spaces that she missed!

I loved this craft because we were just sitting side by side! She chatted away about the different colors, grass, flowers, rain, etc. It was so nice to just have a fun conversation with her while we worked!!

It works best if you use a heavier paper, like cardstock, especially if you are going to frame it. I’m going to have to remember that for next time!

Don’t forget to enjoy your artwork once you are all done!! I know we will.

Oh my gosh, DYING over how cute Lanae is in that last picture! And this is such a cute, fun way to get your child to be crafty! I can’t wait until I can do things like this with my son. And yay for two boys!
