NIGHT-TIME BABY CHANGING CENTER

April 10, 2015 by Carisa

Simple Baby Changing Center

When our kids are first born, we generally keep them in our room (and by room… I mean closet) for the first 1-3 months, until we can get into a good routine and begin to help them sleep through the night.

Each baby has been a little different, so we kind of play it by ear.

We have never really had an official baby changing center before this baby… However, this chest is usually what we end up using late at night.

With baby number 3, I decided that instead of just draping a blanket over the chest at night, I would actually make a changing pad (out of an old memory foam mattress). I chose a super cheap fabric and made a sleeve that I tied off with some string. It is super easy to un-do and throw in the wash.

The memory foam on the inside of the changing pad is covered with large garbage bags and taped up really well so that it doesn’t get gross with all the night time accidents baby will surely have.

I grabbed a divided basket and stashed diapers, wipes and other diaper changing essentials like vasoline, diaper rash cream, pacifier, etc. I wanted to make sure we were prepared at night and didn’t have to go running around trying to find whatever we might need.

I also put together a treat jar to help provide a little energy in the middle of the night!

Then I added a little something special. Since I know Scott will be changing many of the diapers, I wrote this Dear Daddy Poem.

Now we are all set! Feel free to come any time now sweet baby!!!
