PEANUT BUTTER BALLS

April 2, 2015 by Carisa

Peanut Butter and Chocolate Balls from Messes to Memories

Are you a fan of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups? They are my all-time favorite candy.

I actually LOVE the Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs they have at Easter time even more because there is more peanut butter… the best part!

But this Easter, I’m trying to stay away from the temptation of buying a bag of Easter candy because, well, I’m 36 weeks pregnant–meaning I’m trying to eat somewhat healthy so I don’t gain 50 pounds. And of course… so that the baby gets the right nutrients as well.

Plus, I’m having a lot of migraines. Delicious desserts are not always the best cure for those.

So instead of buying a big bag of candy, I made these Peanut Butter Balls. They taste almost exactly like Reese’s Peanut Butter cups… and honestly, they are probably just as bad for me!! Ha ha.

But at least this way I have to put forth some effort to make them before I can eat them and they aren’t just sitting there in a bag waiting to be opened.

Just like Reese's Peanut Butter Cups from Messes to Memories

I basically used a recipe that my mom had for Peanut Butter Bars and just changed it up a tiny bit to make delicious bite-size balls!

Peanut Butter Balls are the perfect treat! They are basically homemade Reese's Peanut Butter Cups!! If you are a fan, you'll love these...
Serves: 36
Ingredients
  • 2½ cups graham crackers
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 cups peanut butter
  • ¼ cup butter melted
  • 1 cup bittersweet chocolate melted
Instructions
  1. Crush or blend your graham crackers so that they are fine!
  2. Mix graham crackers, powdered sugar, peanut butter and butter. Don't worry about getting your hands dirty, that's how you get it mixed well!
  3. Refrigerate for about an hour.
  4. Form peanut butter mixture into balls.
  5. Dip into melted chocolate and set on a tray, stick in the freezer for about an hour to set up!
