DIY SEWN CANDY POUCHES

January 7, 2015 by Carisa

DIY Candy Pouches for Valentine's Day from Messes to Memories

I am not a huge fan of Valentine’s day–it’s a little too commercial for me. But I do love that it is another holiday that can be used to teach how to show love and share!

This Valentine’s, we decided to make these adorable Hand-made Sewn Candy Pouches for some special people in our lives.

Cute Candy Pouches

Lanae was super excited to make one for her Primary Teacher. And she actually helped a ton and made the process a little easier.

I’m not gonna lie, this is not an easy process if you don’t have a good hole punch. Our hole punch is like 30 years old and sticks after each one and you have to press down real hard. So my hand was definitely hurting a ton by the end. I am looking into a new hole punch! Ha ha. Just so you know.

We got the inspiration for this fun project on Parents.com. There is actually a really great video tutorial that demonstrates the basics. Although, we did make a few changes so that we could just work with what we had.

Gather your materials.

Mark where you would like to hole punch so you’re not guessing the whole time.

Make sure you have a good helper to fill up your bags of candy. Lanae did this ALL by herself!

Putting together Candy Pouches

Using the ribbon, sew the card up following the instructions from the video tutorial… super easy!

Place your candy inside. We taped ours down so that it wouldn’t move around…

Tie a pretty little bow at the end!!

I think they turned out super adorable and would love to be on the receiving end of one of these cute DIY Sewn Candy Pouches! Wouldn’t you?
