SIMPLE & SWEET DIY GIRL’S BRACELET

October 7, 2014 by Carisa

A super simple and sweet DIY Girl's bracelet

Happy Birthday to my beautiful Lanae… A week late! So for Lanae’s birthday this year I wanted to do something simple and sweet that she would love! I’m kind of tired of picking up her toys that are scattered throughout the house, so I didn’t really want to spend my precious $$$ on more toys that she really doesn’t care about anyway. Then one Sunday Lanae comes running in to my bathroom and asks if she can wear one of my necklaces like she does every Sunday and the wheels in my head started turning… That’s where the DIY Girl’s Bracelet comes in to play!

After I started thinking about a bracelet and necklace as a gift I started thinking that maybe we could make it a whole experience. Lanae loves shopping and crafting and dressing up so I decided to see if we could DIY it. So we went shopping and collected everything we needed to make our bracelet. I was a little nervous because I have never made a bracelet before, but I’m pretty sure it turned out fabulous so I decided I wanted to share the details!

What you need:

Jewelry Basics Starter Pack  (end rings, clasps and crimp beads are usually included)

Beadalon, Supplemax Wire

Beads of your choice

Now I’m definitely not an expert… BUT this is what I did.

To start out I measured Lanae’s wrist and then doubled the length of the wire because I wanted to make it extra durable for little fingers. I strung the wire through an end ring and then strung both strands through a crimp bead and then used the pliers to secure it.

Then we added some beads and worked on figuring out a pattern that was absolutely adorable.

To finish the bracelet out I added on another crimping bead and then a clasp. After threading the wire through the clasp I rewired it through the crimping bead to secure the end. Finally, I used the pliers to secure the bead.

We couldn’t settle on one pattern… so we ended up with two bracelets!

Super simple, super secure, super cute!

Lanae loved shopping and picking out the beads. Then she looked forward to making her bracelet for a whole week… She loved putting it together and was thrilled about wearing it. After the bracelets, we made a necklace… which I’ll be posting about later!!

We still have tons of materials left so we might make a couple more…

I’ll definitely be sharing how we made the matching necklace really soon!!!
