We wheelie love Scott! So much so that we decided to make him a fun Hotwheels car massage shirt. The kids already love cars and they occasionally drive on our backs and it feels so good. Whenever they do I beg them to keep driving! I love the attention.
I have seen these shirts a couple times so this is definitely not a Messes to Memories original… but I always thought they were an absolute genius and cute idea! I actually really want to make one for myself now!
I knew before we even started making the shirt it was going to be a hit. The kids started driving all over the sketches we made to guide us as we drew the real thing.
I attached the sketches (4 pieces of paper) together and then taped them to a poster board. The poster was to protect the shirt and give something solid to work on. I didn’t want the paint markers to bleed through. It also helped stretch the shirt out so there weren’t any wrinkles.
Then using paint markers I followed the sketches. It made it so easy… Much easier than I thought. After it was done we let it sit for several hours we had a birthday party to go to. When we got back and we’re making dinner the kids grabbed the shirt and asked Scott if he would put the shirt on so they could drive on his back. He was busy making quesadillas and stuff so he told them to ask me.
I was chopping tomatoes for salsa… So I had to tell them no too. But I told them that we would definitely try it on soon so they could drive on it!
As soon as we put this shirt on they were all over it! They love driving on it and will even make up stories about going to the park and swinging on the swings. Then going to the fire house to save people.
This is a fun and easy project that you will definitely enjoy the finished product! Give as a gift or just because… either way it will be appreciated and used often!
